The Spanish diving magazine "Buceadores" has named the Philippines as its tourism destination for 2013.
In a news release on Tuesday, the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said: "Buceadores announced that the Philippines is their tourism destination for 2013 during the cocktail reception they organized for participating exhibitors at the Dive Travel Show on March 24."
The DFA said "Buceadores" disclosed this at the fourth Dive Travel Show on March 24 and 25 in Pabellon de Cristal, Casa de Campo in Madrid.
The Dive Travel Show is an annual event organized by "Buceadores" and its partners.
The event brings together diving aficionados, tour organizers, diving equipment and accessories companies, and travel agencies in one venue.
The Philippines' participation in this year´s Dive Travel Show saw the launching of the new "It´s More Fun in the Philippines" logo.
When the DOT's new campaign slogan was launched in January this year, Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez said the campaign is simple and truthful and answers the simple question, “Why should I go to the Philippines?”
Jimenez said: "We need a line that is easily understood. Competitive. More fun in the Philippines is true. Kering keri natin ang campaign na 'to.”
Sampaguita and Atlantis Dive Resorts, and Buceo Filipinas joined the Philippine booth.
Coordinating the Philippines' participation in the dive fair was the Department of Tourism in London. - VVP, GMA News
