The world’s biggest jazz festival: the Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival, - more popularly known as Java Jazz Festival, - will highlight the capital city Jakarta with the grandest celebration of music from 6th to 8th March 2015, to be held at the Jakarta International Exhibition Center, Kemayoran.
Having surpassed the ten year’s milestone last year that has firmly established Jakarta as the world’s capital of Jazz, this year the festival is back with a bolder agenda to spread the groove of Jazz to the entire planet.
Confirming the scale and magnitude of the festival, this year Java Jazz will set up 17 stages for over 60 shows per day. With over 150 performers –and counting, - this year’s Java Jazz Festival will again feature some of the most prominent names in the world’s music scene, including the pop sensation Christina Perri, famous for the defiant break-up anthem "jar of hearts" and the mega hits soundtrack from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -Part 1, "A Thousand Years".
Completing the international line up are some of world’s renowned musicians including: Bobby McFerrin, Chaka Khan, Harvey Mason, Jessie J, Warren Hill, Akiko Tsuruga, Alain Carson, Chris Turner, Gregoire Maret, Jon Regen, Lisa Ono, Marc De Clive-Lowe, Ron Kig Big Band, Snarky Puppy, Courtney Pine, Chris Botti, and more.
As always, Java Jazz Festival is also the stage to showcase Indonesia’s own finest talents. Combining legendary names in Indonesian Jazz scene and new emerging stars, this year will feature over 100 Indonesian performers namely: Dian Pramana Poetra, Ananda Sukarlan, Reza Artamevia, Petra Sihombing, Kahitna, Sheila On 7, The Overtunes, Tulus, Laid This Nite, Andre Dinuth, Farah D Ethnic Jazz Project, Laya Putri, Ricad Hutapea, Dhira Bongs, and more.
As the line-up gets more and more impressive each year, Indonesia has firmly established herself on the world music map.
