Laguna Phuket Marathon is one of Thailand and the region’s best-loved running races. This year marks the 12th edition of one of the event which will take place on 3 – 4 June, 2017.
As usual, runners, both professional and amateur from around the world will be joining the event which offers races in the 2km, 5 km and 10.5km categories on Saturday 3 June with half and full marathons on the morning of Sunday 4 June.
The marathons and runs start and finish at Laguna Phuket and take in the local villages, greenery, seascapes and orchards along the route. So this fun and family friendly event is not only a great way to keep fit, but also reminds participants and the people cheering them on about the beauty of Phuket and the importance of preserving the local and marine environment.
This year there’s space for around 6,000 with 300 kid’s spaces for the 2km fun race. So people are advised to book a space early if they want to join. Last year saw people come from 60 nations around the world to take part.
The entry fees include running numbers, shirts, commemorative medals and trophies for race winners. International runners and those competing in the marathon and half-marathon are also invited to a post event Pasta Party.
