Following its successful inaugural edition last year, the exciting Tour de Flores 2017 will again take cyclists on the challenging track across the undulating landscape of Flores Island in East Nusa Tenggara Province, to take place from 14th to 19th July 2017.
Ubon Ratchathani Candle Festival is the traditional well-known festival in I-San and the largest religious ceremony in Ubon Ratchathani, which is held on Asalha Bucha Day and Khao Phansa Day every year.
The Myanmar month of Waso is the beginning of the monsoon rains. It is also the start of the Buddhist Lent. Monks are prohibited to travel overnight from their monasteries. According to the monks' code of conduct, they are still obligated to make the rounds for their daily food whether it is raining or not. As it is, they need spare robes. Therefore there is a ceremony to offer robes to the monks for use during the wet season.
An open road cycling event covering 160km. It takes participants around the city of Kuantan including tourist spots. The event attracts more than 2,000 riders.
On 9th to 10th July 2017, the indigenous Tenggerese community who live on the slopes of the stunning Mount Bromo, the imposing icon of East Java will conduct their age old ritual ceremony called Yadnya Kasada. The Yadnya Kasada (or more popularly known as Kesodo) is a festival held every 14th day of the Kasada Month in the traditional Hindu lunar calendar. This ceremony is held to honor Sang Hyang Widhi, God Almighty, and is based on the ancient legend of Roro Anteng and Joko Seger.
This marks the beginning of the Buddhist Lent. During the next three-month period, monks spend most of their time in prayer and meditation are restricted from spending nights in temples other than their own.
The Northwest Cuisine Festival opened in the northern province of Lao Cai on July 8, as part of activities of the Lao Cai – Northwest National Tourism Year 2017.
