Brunei Darussalam is located on the island of Borneo in Southeast Asia. Brunei has developed a wide variety of natural and man-made attractions infused with Islamic influences. Islam is indeed a strong element of Brunei’s identity. The small country is today the last independent Islamic kingdom in Southeast Asia and as such offers a wealth of attractions, including the Royal Regalia Museum and the iconic Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque. In 2000, Brunei’s capital city was voted 7th Most Liveable City in Asia. With growing MICE activities, new conference venues, luxury hotels and urban infrastructure have been added in the last decade, making Bandar Sri Begawan, Brunei’s capital, an ideal destination for business travellers. The country has hosted many high-profile events such as APEC meetings, various ASEAN Ministers meetings and the ASEAN Travel Forum.
